Junior Architect
Job Description
Purpose of Classification:
Assist Architects in the preparation of plans and specifications for the construction and/or alteration of buildings.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
This is first in a series of three classifications. It is distinguished from the Architect in that the Architect independently prepares plans and specifications for construction and/or alteration of buildings.
Scope/Key Responsibilities:
Drafting of projects; picking up redlines; small design tasks as a part of a larger design; creating sheet layouts; and performing quality assurance on drawings. Additionally, the candidate will perform preliminary code analysis under the supervision of an architect and create preliminary renderings for clients.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of architecture and architectural principles and techniques.

Knowledge of types of building materials and construction methods.

Knowledge of the methods and techniques of CAD design
-
Knowledge of federal and state facility and code requirements.

Knowledge of structural, mechanical and electrical engineering relating to building costs.

Skill in drafting architectural plans.

Willing to carry out a project from conceptual stage to materialization

Strong graphic skill and sensibility
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field AND (1-3) years of architectural experience Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Interior architect / FF&E Specialist
Job Description
Purpose of Classification:
Assist Architects in the preparation of plans and specifications; in addition to interior design and fit-out coordination with the architectural team.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
This is first in a series of three classifications. It is distinguished from the Architect in that the Architect independently prepares plans and specifications for construction and/or alteration of buildings.
Scope/Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and work with senior designer(s) in the development of overall design concepts.

Prepare schemes and sample boards to include, furniture, fabrics, and accessories
-
Select and document necessary specifications, schedules and material references; approved colors, finishes, materials required into a spec book.

Prepare spec sheets for all selected and custom items.
-
Develop necessary and appropriate budgets required for the assigned project.

Request pricing from suppliers
-
Assist in the preparation of Purchase Orders
-
Review shop drawings and follow up on all manufactured items.
-
Contact with client/consultants/vendors on all FF&E matters and attend site meetings.
-
Be informed and regularly updated on various FF&E supplies and materials relative to design/decoration purposes and budgets.
-
Update and maintain the FF&E library.
-
Carry out all the above responsibilities and all necessary documentation within set time schedule and meet project progress schedule
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Familiarity and knowledge of both traditional and contemporary style of interior materials, furnishings, accessories and artwork as well as architectural materials and it’s application in design projects.

Passionate and aware of global design trends and FF&E supplies.

Strong knowledge in sourcing for high-end FF&E and finishes on large and small projects.

Familiarity and comprehension of working on FF&E project cost and budget control.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Skill in drafting architectural plans.
